The sketches on folios 31 verso, 32 and 32 verso (D27091–D27093) are of the Moray Firth around Fort George. Although these could have been made from the bay at Ardersier to the south of Fort George, it is perhaps more likely that they are all from around Fort Rose, Chanonry Point and Rosemarkie across the Firth on the Black Isle. Fort George is depicted at the right of the bottom sketch on the present page. The sketch at the top probably depicts the shore to the south of the fort. The inscription at the top of this page may say ‘Mory’, referring to the Moray Firth.
