This sketch has been identified by David Wallace-Hadrill as depicting the bridge over Rhymer’s Glen on the Abbotsford estate.1 It is seen from below in several sketches, such as the one on folio 51 verso (D26195). The inscription at the bottom of the page is therefore likely to say ‘Glen’ as in folio 55 verso (D26203).

There are light brown stains across the top right of this page, at the right and at the bottom.
