Following on from a series of views of Edinburgh from the Stewart Monument on Calton Hill (see folio 79 verso; D26411) here is another view from Calton Hill, this time looking over the city to the distant Firth of Forth. Part of a structure on the hill, perhaps the City Observatory, is included in the foreground at the lower left. There is another view of Edinburgh from Calton Hill on folios 80 verso–81 (D26413–D26414).
