Two inscriptions on this page point towards Loch Ard as the subject of these five sketches.1 The peak of Ben Lomond is easily identifiable in the third and fourth sketches from the top, and less so in the second sketch, indicating that this is a westerly view across the loch from the eastern side. The sketch at the top of the page, and perhaps also inverted at the bottom of the page, may be a south-westerly view across the loch from the same place.
