The main view shows the blockhouse on the Fowey side of the Fowey Estuary (compare folio 31 verso; D08420), looking north-east to the tower of St Fimbarrus’s Church. At the top right and bottom left are rough outlines of skylines and squarish buildings which are perhaps one or more of the blockhouses at Fowey and Polruan and the nearby St Catherine’s Castle. There seems also to be another smaller outline sketch of one of these subjects at the bottom left. For other views in and around Fowey see under folio 5 verso (D08371).
