Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
This seems to be a view southwards along the Devon coast towards Teignmouth, with the Ness headland on the horizon at the centre. Three successive drawings on the recto (D08535; CXXIII 88), here and on folio 92 recto opposite (D08537; CXXIII 89) may show the same feature at different distances, and an inscription on the latter appears to refer to the area.
