The view is to the west up Totnes’s Fore Street to the tower of St Mary’s Church and the castle beyond, from the south of the east end of the medieval bridge (since replaced) over the River Dart. There have been various changes to the riverside buildings but the scene is still recognisable from the bridge.

Technical notes:
