The details on this page are too rough to be conclusively identified, however, they appear to depict three general views of Rome. The tree-lined hill in the centre of the upper sketch may represent Monte Mario, whilst the large dome visible in the lower vista may be St Peter’s. Turner’s viewpoint may be one of the upper storeys of the Villa Borghese palace, see folio 20 (D16522).
