The details on this page are very sparse and schematic but they appear to represent a rough study of the interior of the Duomo of Florence (also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore). The building, principally designed by Filippo Brunelleschi (1377–1446), is notable for the austerity of the interior. This drawing depicts a view from the nave looking towards the arches of one of the side aisles with a row of round windows at the level of the clerestory. For a more detailed view see folio 46 (D16565).
