Turner’s inscription meaning ‘ditto’ refers, as Finberg noted, to folio 27 verso of the sketchbook (D05419; Turner Bequest LXXXVII 44), which is annotated ‘Gravesend’. Folio 25 verso (D05415; Turner Bequest LXXXVII 40) also has a Gravesend sketch.
