Hook is situated on the Western Cleddau, north of Milford Haven, between Pembroke and Haverfordwest.
The drawing was made with the page turned horizontally.
Technical notes:
The sheet is discoloured, badly damaged at the corners, and stained and spotted; three corners have been made up.
Verso:
Inscribed by John Ruskin in red ink ‘740’; in another hand in pencil ‘Hook, Pembrokeshire’; and, in a further hand ‘27’, ‘54’; stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram.
