This sketch records the view towards Wycliffe Hall down the River Tees, from a slightly more distant viewpoint than seen on the recto (D11482). Here, the house is just visible beyond the trees at the right. The present writer has dated Turner’s sketches in the Wycliffe area to Thursday 1 August 1816.
