This is the left half of a double-page spread continued on folio 289 verso opposite (D11885), recording the view from the Sutton Bank road, looking west and north to Gormire Lake (inscribed here as ‘Pool’) with Whitestone Cliff at the right. There is similar view in this sketchbook (running from the back, folios 294 recto and 293 verso; D11894, D11893).
