This page contains three sketches:
i. (main sketch) The view down the river at Stratford-upon-Avon, with the Guild Chapel over the bridge to the left and the toll house at the right, continued to the right from Holy Trinity Church on the opposite page (D29203; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 87a). See Introduction to the sketchbook for the presence of a small run of sketches at Stratford dating from 1833, as well as the majority of subjects from 1836 including the following.
ii. (above, inverted in relation to the main sketch) An Alpine panorama from near Aosta, with ‘Mt Rosa’ in the distance.
iii. (right, drawn with the page upright) A tiny thumbnail sketch of a Val d’Aosta tower and church, probably at Avise or Arvier.
