Diana Cook and Dorothy Kirk note that it is ‘probably impossible to identify the precise location’ of this rapid sketch, since there have been substantial changes to Calstock’s waterfront along Lower Kelly.1 They reproduce a photograph of about 1900 and a modern drawing by Ley Roberts, showing the early twentieth-century viaduct which now dominates the view eastwards up the River Tamar.
