Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this view of woods and hills appears to be continued in the slight sketch of trees on folio 29 verso (D41431), which was not recorded by Finberg. There are various identified and likely subjects along the Thames Valley in this sketchbook, as discussed in the Introduction; this may be another. The scene on folio 23 verso (D08318) is comparable.
