Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this drawing continues on folio 56 recto opposite (D22429). Looking south, on the right here is Dudley’s Priory Hall, with the ruins of the adjacent priory loosely indicated to its left and running over to the other page, where Dudley Castle is seen from the wooded slopes now occupied by Dudley Zoo. There are variations of this view on folios 54 verso–55 recto and 56 verso (D22426, D22427, D22430).
