Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the view to the right beyond a repoussoir stand of trees in the foreground focuses on the tiny, schematically rendered form of the Chinese Fishing Temple (now gone) on the north side of Virginia Water; the view continues a little on folio 83 verso opposite (D22133; Turner Bequest CCXXXVIII 81a).
