Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the composition continues across folio 54 verso opposite (D01227; Turner Bequest XXXVII 110). It is one of a series of subjects presumably made at Margate; see under folio 52 verso (D01223; Turner Bequest XXXVII 106).
