This is one of five detailed drawings that Turner made in this sketchbook studying the Romanesque architecture of the ruined interior of Lindisfarne Priory; see under folio 53 recto (D00958; Turner Bequest XXXIV 50). Here he takes a viewpoint in the crossing, looking down the nave towards the west end.
