This sketch may depict the fortified castle at the Rocher du Bock, though Turner’s cursory handling and lack of identifying features makes it difficult to determine the exact subject matter. There is an inscription in another hand reading ‘1 fr 10’, perhaps a denoting a price, at the top right of the pastedown.
Technical notes:
There is staining from the leather overlaps on the back outside cover at the top and bottom left and right of the page.
