This slight and largely undeveloped sketch probably represents the village of Iffley in Oxfordshire, with the tower of the Norman Church of St Mary the Virgin at centre right.1 The church is recorded elsewhere in this sketchbook on Tate D28323, D28329, D28343; Turner Bequest CCLXXXIX 17, 20, 27.
