This view is of Oberfell, a village in the Moselle valley situated between Kattenes and Lehmen. Turner has suggested a few of the vessels which ply the waters of the Moselle with single vertical lines to represent their masts. The spire of the fourteenth-century Pfarrkirche St Nikolas can be seen at right.
