Finberg listed this subject, drawn with the page turned horizontally, as ‘Near Llanberis’,1 but it is more probably a view on the River Conwy. However, it may belong much later in the sequence and show a scene on the Dee.

Finberg 1909, I, p.92.
Technical notes:
There is staining to the sky from the window of an acidic National Gallery mount. About 20 mm has been irregularly trimmed from the top edge of the drawing, and made good to reattach it at the gutter; the lower left and upper right corners were also torn away and have been made up. In 1909 Finberg recorded ‘Two leaves torn out’ after folio 33 (D01388), and suggested one of them was the present page.1

Verso:
Blank; slight greenish-brown paint smears; inscribed in pencil in a later hand ‘65’; stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram.
