This close-up study of the ruins of Malmesbury Abbey is more substantial than the somewhat perfunctory one on folios 11 verso–12 recto (D01482–D01483). The subject is continued on folio 14 recto opposite (D01486), where a detail of Romanesque moulding is studied separately at the top right.
