The subject is continued on folio 24 recto opposite (D01499; Turner Bequest XL 22). This is a very hasty sketch; the place may be Chepstow rather than Brecon. Finberg suggested Brecon as the location,1 and thought that the following drawing (folios 24 verso–25 recto; D01500–D01501; Turner Bequest XL 22a–23) also shows the town.
