Drawn inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this castle has not yet been identified; it may be Ludlow. Finberg suggested Chepstow,1 but this does not seem likely. The subject is continued on folio 72 recto opposite (D01581; Turner Bequest XL 70).
