Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this drawing is continued on folio 76 recto (D01587; Turner Bequest XL 74). Bastions such as these feature in the ruins of numerous Welsh and border castles, and it would be difficult to identify the subject of this drawing precisely.
