Technical notes:
The sheet is discoloured from exposure. This is a fragment of a sketchbook leaf, used horizontally and originally measuring approximately 334 x 469 mm; the other part (D02220) is mounted to its left. For a proposed sequence for the leaves of the disbound Fonthill sketchbook, with these two fragments as folio 57, see the Introduction.
