Turner filled much of this page with panoramas of coastal terrain punctuated by harbour infrastructure and shipping; the sketch second from the top is inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated. Although most of the features described here are too generic or cursory to identify a location, the view recorded towards the bottom of the page, with a fully-rigged ship seen on the port side, may represent a view north across Le Havre, Normandy with the heights of Sainte-Adresse glimpsed in the far distance. The view would therefore reverse the vantage recorded on folios 41 recto (D23597; Turner Bequest CCLII 41) and 45 recto (D23603; Turner Bequest CCLII 45).
