With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner worked small views of wooded hillsides with a large building onto the upper half of this page. Although the scenery is too generic to identify the location definitively, this volume contains multiple views of the countryside in the Île-de-France region around Paris as outlined in the sketchbook Introduction.
