Turner worked three small views of villages down the length of this page. Illegible notes on the top and bottom sketches are presumably place names identifying the scenes depicted. Although the scenery is too generic to identify the location definitively, this volume contains multiple views of the countryside in the Île-de-France region around Paris as outlined in the sketchbook Introduction.
