With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled the top half of this page with drawings of indeterminate bridges and architectural structures in a landscape. The temple-like building on the right-hand side of the page and the steepness of the bridge depicted towards the top left-hand corner suggest ornamental garden structures. Turner sketched many palace gardens around the Île-de-France in this volume, a list of which is provided in the sketchbook Introduction.
