With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled the central strip of this page with a study of the old stone bridge which once crossed the Seine at Corbeil-Essonnes, located some seventeen miles south of central Paris. Turner made several sketches at this location in this volume, a list of which is included in the sketchbook Introduction.
