Inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated, the multiple studies on this page depict densely clustered town buildings. Such buildings are a feature of the cathedral town of Troyes, situated about one hundred miles south-east of Paris which features frequently in this part of the sketchbook. A list of these drawings is provided in the sketchbook Introduction for comparison.
