With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled much of this page with long, hilly landscape views. Art historian Ian Warrell has pointed out that these scenes bear a likeness to Turner’s sketches of the chateau of Malmaison in this volume, a list of which is provided in the sketchbook Introduction for comparison.1
