Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the subject is continued on folio 101 recto opposite (D02781). The castle is perhaps that shown on folios 99 verso–100 recto (D02778–D02778). Finberg suggested that these are the ruins of Pickering Castle,1 but this does not seem to be the case.
