The subject is continued on folio 43 recto opposite (D02994; Turner Bequest LVI 41). Inveraray Castle is the seat of the Chief of the Campbells, the Duke of Argyll. Turner was to pass several Campbell castles in the course of his tour through Breadalbane, in the Central Highlands, including Kilchurn, Dochart and Taymouth.
