With its inclusion of a sailing boat in the immediate foreground, this is a more developed idea for the composition of a picture of Caernarvon Castle from the north-west sketched elsewhere in this book, on folios 49 verso, 50 recto, 52 recto and 54 recto (D02069, D02070, D02074, D02077).
