This study was made with the page turned horizontally. Such drawings in this sketchbook provide evidence that Turner deliberately sought high viewpoints in Snowdonia, including the upper slopes of Snowdon itself, and possibly Elidir Fawr: see also the entry for folio 82 verso (D02119).
