This sketch records the view looking east from the summit of Penmaenmawr towards the Great Orme, which appears on the horizon in the centre of the composition. While he was on the summit of the headland, Turner made another quick sketch showing the view west, on folio 90 verso opposite (D02130). See also the entries for folios 55 recto and 57 verso–58 recto (D02079, D02084–D02085).
