This drawing was made with the page turned horizontally; the sketch of a torn branch on folio 89 verso opposite (D40780) is probably a continuation of this subject. See also the studies on folios 87 recto, 88 recto and 89 recto (D03923–D03925). All of them may have been made on the Fonthill estate when Tuner was there in 1799, as discussed under D03923.
