Rendered with the sketchbook turned upside down, here Turner depicts the Suffolk village of Dunwich in a series of cursory sketches. The ruined All Saints’ Church situated close to the cliff’s edge is recorded from various aspects (see Tate D18257; Turner Bequest CCIX 51a).
