This chalk study of the sun over the sea is one of several in this volume. For more information, see the sketchbook introduction. The first line of notes running vertically down the left hand edge of the page is illegible. The second and third lines are semi-legible and read, ‘line of the [...] pink as orb. the last light ¦shoul be [...] or black’.
