Although in itself the slight profile of a distant tower beyond the yachts occupying most of the page might just as well indicate East Cowes Castle (see under folio 1 verso; D20597), the clear depictions of Norris Castle overlooking the Solent near East Cowes on subsequent pages (folios 39 verso, 40 recto (D20657, D20658; Turner Bequest CCXXVI 37a, 38) suggest that this is also a view of it; see under D20658 for others.
