J.M.W. Turner: Sketchbooks, Drawings and Watercolours

The four successive drawings here were made with the page turned vertically. They show racing yachts, some of considerable size, manoeuvring among smaller sailing boats and moored boats marking a racing course. The top drawing also includes slight indications of clouds. The brief note, apparently a single word, between the lower two drawings is effectively illegible.
