Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, at the top is a view of the East Cowes headland from the west; the skyline continues south to the nearby castle on folio 22 verso opposite (D18031). Numerous sailing boats appear to be moored offshore. Below, the other way up, is the profile of a yacht under sail.
