Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, there are rapid indications of yachts sailing, and probably racing; the single craft on folio 50 recto opposite (D18085) may be part of the same group. Separated by a pencil line, to the right are what appear to be swift profiles of East Cowes from the west, with East Cowes Castle above and the headland at the entrance to the River Medina on the left.
