The various loose sketches of buildings and cliffs here, presumably on a Channel coast, continue across folio 74 recto opposite (D35617). See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight coastal views scattered through it.
The blank recto is inscribed by John Ruskin in red ink ‘73’ and stamped in black ‘CCCLXI – 73’ at the bottom right. For numerous instances of blank, unaccessioned rectos in this sketchbook, see the technical notes in the Introduction.
