With the page turned vertically, two small groups of figures are noted at the outer edge, apparently including a standing man in a coat and tall hat, a stooping or seated woman and, perhaps, some children. They may have been travellers observed at one of the Channel ports on adjacent pages. See the Introduction for the occasional figure studies elsewhere in this sketchbook.
